Okay, what can I say! Life can be VERY crazy! Moving really threw a wrench in everything and I think I can finally come up for air!
So, that leaves me with some much needed posting to do! However, I am not going to do it on here....... (SAY WHAT??)
Nope, not here. I am working on a new blog! Yippee!!!
I will keep this one up so people can go back to old posts, but the new one will be starting over fresh. I figured since we moved to a new area, it was time for a change.
So look for some new changes in the near future........

Oh how I love babies! As a Mom of a 7 and 9 year old, it is easy to forget just how tiny they once were. I'm so happy when my clients come in before they are two weeks. They are so very small and they sleep in just about any position you put them in. It is the perfect time to have them done! This little lady was just perfect in every way!! Congratulations Mom and Dad! :D

Well the new site is about finished and I am currently looking for models for a portfolio building session. This will be a FREE shoot!!! Plus you will receive 40% off the prints!!! WOW!
Here are the requirements.......

Maternity:
Must be at least 7 months pregnant. Needs to have a GREAT sense of style and be willing to fulfill the photographers artistic vision.

Toddler:
Must be between the ages of 2 and 4 and NOT shy of the camera. I am looking for a boutique/European style type of clothing.

During Thanksgiving Break the girls and I did a photo swap with a friend from high school that is also a local photographer in my home town. Her work is beautiful! And gorgeous is the best way to describe the family. They are such a fun loving family and you are just naturally drawn to their personalities. Did I mention how beautiful they are???!!!??? :D

Wow!!! I can honestly say that this is the longest I have ever gone posting!!! Shame on me!!! Well, in my defense life was a weeeee bit crazy towards the end of the year. I'm VERY pleased to announce that my wonderful husband is finally home!!! The girls and I have been in heaven having him back!!! But now it is time to get back to work! :D I am going to post some of my favorites from the past 4 months! We will be updating the website soon. Yeah!!!! It is LONG overdue!

So much has been going on, and I have not posted anything new lately. The reason for that is school started making life oh so crazy and Dave has been working very hard in Afghanistan updating the website to give it a whole new look. We had hoped to have it up and running by now, but the wonderful internet connection there has proven to be nerve wracking! Soooooooo I had hoped to save a lot of my new stuff for the new site, but I'm going to go ahead and just start posting like mad!!!! LOL
I always love to hear your feedback and comments! They are what drives me to do newer and better things!

AWFUL week............

Well, some of you might know that last week was on of the worst weeks I have had since the death of my parents. Dave and I have always taken pet ownership VERY seriously. They are not "just a pet", but members of our family that we love dearly. Last year when we moved back from Europe we went to the pound and found a friend for our other kitty. The girls named her Lacee and we quickly fell in love with her! She was so SWEET and she became quite fat rather quickly! I have never known a cat that loves to sleep on their back all the time and then to have their belly rubbed. She would just purr so loud when you rubbed her belly!!. Well on Sunday the 22nd. We came home from church and about 45 min. after being home my neighbor came to the door and asked if my cats were inside. I looked around and quickly realized that they were not in the house. Long story short.....Lacee was in her yard. She was mauled to death by either a big dog or a coyote. I don't know if I can every forgive myself for not realizing that she was outside the night before. I'm usually so good about making sure all the animals are in at night. But that night I was so tired and I honestly thought she was in. Never ever will I forgive myself. It is a visual scene that I will never ever get out of my head and will torment me the rest of my life.....
Hydee our dog has been with us since 1996. She was our first "baby". A test really to see if we were ready to have children. I'll never forget the day I fell in love with her. We were riding back from Missouri and she was on my lap in the car and it just hit me like a truck..... Unconditional love! I always liked dogs, but had more affection for cats and here was this little dog that just grew on me. If you put your face up to hers she smelt like a flower.....I don't know why but she did. ALWAYS! She never smelt bad like some dogs do. Dave loved her so much! She loved Dave more than anything else in this world. He was Alpha dog and she wholeheartedly loved him. When we lived in Germany she started having health issues and it seemed as though she had Lupus in a canine forum. Things would come and go, but she would bounce back. She also came down with hip dysplasia which made it hard for her to get up and down the stairs. We didn't mind! We would carry her to bed every night and carry her back down in the morning. She was gimpy, but had so much more life in her.
Tuesday I took her in because right after Dave left to go back to Afghanistan on the 10th she started to REALLY drop weight at at an alarming rate. Dr. Howard felt a mass in her stomach and thought it was a mass around her spleen. He wanted to go ahead and open her up and see what we were dealing with. We went ahead with the surgery and he called us once he was able to see what he was dealing with. She cancer in her small intestine and it was causing a blockage. The mass we saw was the food trying to pass thru. The poor baby must have been in sooo much pain! We decided that it was worth the risk to go ahead and remove it and just hope and pray that she would pull thru it. She made it thru the surgery and the next morning the girls and I went to see her.....They had to unhook her from the feeding tube and IV's She was soooooo weak and I could see in her eyes that something was not right. I could feel it. I loved on her and gave her a pep talk. I think in my mind even though I knew the end was near I was in complete denial.....After about 45 min. they had to take her back to hook her back up. Dr. Howard said the next 24 hours were critical and it was up to her to fight. I left praying so hard that she would pull thru. This was Dave's baby and there was a bond between Hydee and Dave that was amazing and he is half way around the world. I wanted them to be together again.......As soon as I got home I got the call. She lost her fight.
Amazing how one week can bring you so much sorrow.......
Today is the first of July. I am ready to move on. I have to. I still shed tears and think about them constantly. I'll NEVER forget them......how can I?
I am a bit delayed with some of my work.......I am almost caught up and should be completely by tomorrow. Thanks to all my clients for their patience. :)

As most of you know, I'm a people person. What can I say....I love meeting new people and getting to know them. That is why I just LOVE my job. I get to meet the most incredible families! This was one of them. There was so much love between them. So sweet, tender and romantic. It is a love that will stand the test of time!

It is hard to believe that last year I just planted these flowers. They came back and tripled in size!! I thought my Calla Lilies had kicked the bucket last year because of the heat but they bloomed so pretty this year! I'm going to have to divide some of the flowers and put them elsewhere because there simply isn't enough room! But first I need to figure out how to get the Japanese Beetle off my Crepe Myrtle! Any suggestions????? Well~Back to work I go! Just thought I would share with everyone! :D

On Saturday this couple tied the knot~ Today we went out and took some bridal shots. We took advantage of one of the MANY wheat fields that are just yummy and golden. Don't they make a beautiful couple!?! I certainly think so!

Court's Birthday Bash

Well........our first baby girl is 8!! I just can't believe it! Of course Hannah Montana was the theme......sigh. I NEVER would have heard the end of it if I had not allowed it. So to go along with it we had a "ROCK STAR" photo shoot!
After a long night of ghost stories and tons of talking the girls finally went to sleep around 3AM!! Needless to say, I was zombie the next day.

This couple came to me all the way from the southern part of Tennessee! I was honored that they would drive so far to have me take their son's first portraits. The truck in the portraits belonged to his Great Grandpa!! Me being the antique LOVER was soooooooo super excited to use it in his pictures!! They also brought the antique rocking chair as well. I just love it when my clients bring things that mean so much to them to have them included in the session. It truly makes them uniquely theirs!

I was asked back in January to second shoot this wedding with Kandi from A Piece of Forever. I had so much fun with her!
This opened a whole new door for me. I have always wanted to get into Wedding Photography, but I really wanted to test the waters to see if this was something I wanted to do. I realized that I LOVE it and two days after the wedding I had a phone call to do a wedding in June! I am also shooting one next month. I'm so excited that these brides decided to have me take their portraits on one of the most important days of their lives. It truely means so much!

Well, It has been a while since I have posted. I have been adjusting to one less family member in the house and getting the girls and myself in a functioning routine. I have found that the days seem to fly! Having even more responsibilities makes the days go by much quicker. (No complaints here) Nothing like wishing the next 15 months away, but......

Wow! It has been a while!

Well.........So much has changed in the past few months! We are no longer living in Europe. (sob..sniff sniff) But we are so happy to be back in the good ol USA! Yeah!!!
I have been spending the past few months getting my house in order and traveling to see family and friends.
I am super excited to get back to work. I have missed it so!

I was so sad that we were leaving Germany right before spring paid a visit. However with the unusually warm winter we have had, spring is in the air!

Rome was awesome! We walked forever! So much to see and do. We were very lucky with the weather as well. I have hundreds of photo's that we took from our Italy trip.......I just haven't had time to do anything with them.

Pisa was cool, but very dirty outside the walls. The pan handlers were bad as well. Aside from that it was pretty neat. The girls were very sad that they weren't old enough to go up the tower, but we had fun walking around as well.

This was our first day in London. We stayed in a nice location close to just about everything. We were VERY lucky to have such beautiful weather while we were there. Dave and I both agree this was by far one of our favorite places that we have been to. We wished we could have stayed longer.......Soooooo much to see and do!

So it has sort of become tradition for us to eat at Hard Rock on all of our travels. Our previous ones have been Rome, Paris, and Amsterdam. The kids love it and always have a good time. I guess that is why we go! ;-)

A raven story

So as some of you might know the story of the ravens at the Tower of London.....The story is that at least 6 ravens must stay or the Tower and monarchy will fall. This is why they are kept (wings clipped)at the tower.......To prevent disaster.

We had a disaster of our own. Unfortunately there were no signs at the "bloody tower" and Courtney was bitten. Poor baby!! I didn't get a picture of the aftermath......(yes it did break skin) but I did get a picture of the bird. He is HUGE! Look at how big his beak is! So for all of you that plan to visit.........Stay clear of the birds! LOL

The girls wanted soooooo badly to make him laugh! He was one of the guards at the Tower of London.

This was taken inside the Natural History Museum. I thought it was very pretty.

Every once and a while you come across a family that is soooooooo easy to photograph. Usually it is hit or miss with the younger ones. This little guy was the happiest little boy I have ever seen! He was a blast! He is so lucky to have an amazing older brother to play with as well. I will attach that photo next.

I was so happy when Tawnya called me to photograph her newest addition! Of course we had to get some of Ethan as well. Ashlyn was in school, but we will be taking family pictures outdoors before we leave. For any of you that know Ethan.......He is just tooooooo CUTE and quite the camera lover! ;-)

Okay, I know I know......I have been terrible lately about updating my blog!! I am two months behind!!
So much has gone on in the past few months. We had the joy of going to London and seeing a dear friend Elizabeth and her family. We have had school pictures, movers, and home buying as well.
As most of you know, we are moving in 3 weeks to Clarksville, TN. We finally have a contract on a new home. It will be finished by the end of this month, so just in time! We arrive in Clarksville on March 28th.
I am going allllllllll the way back to the first of January and I'm going to start putting up pictures.
We are looking forward to being back in the states. We will miss living in Europe like crazy, but I guess it is just our time to move on!
If any of you know friends in Clarksville/ Ft. Campbell area, please send them our way!! We would love to meet them.

Happy New Year!!!
We celebrated with some friends and they brought some fire works to shoot off. For those of you that have not experienced a New Years in Germany, this is the one night of the year they can whoop holler and shoot as many fireworks as they want......Without the wrath of the Polizei.
Once it was midnight it was a 360 degree firework display! Very cool!
